More About The Artist
When grunge disappeared from Seattle, many wondered if the city that produced Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and countless other legends would ever return to its status as a rock Mecca. With bands like RISHLOO rising through the ranks, a resurgence of interest in Seattle music may not be far off.
With a sound reminiscent of artists such as Dredg, Tool, and The Mars Volta, RISHLOO layers their music with the emotional depth and beauty of Tori Amos, the furious honesty of Rage Against the Machine, the soul, songwriting, and social conscience of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, and the sonic deviousness of Mogwai to create an aural experience that pushes rock's frontiers while staying true to the genre's roots.
Never content to abide by the general practices of the music industry any more than is absolutely necessary, RISHLOO does not believe it necessary to inflate the effect they have on their fans, but rather to simply relate it. Popular music long ago forgot the value of the individual in favor of chasing abstract demographics. The traditional music industry is floundering around, a half-sunken, overlarge Titanic too massive to respond to a digital world and its inhabitants, and bands like RISHLOO who are already reaping the rewards of caring about the people who care about them are toasting to the impending disappearance of an outdated monstrosity that has been on its way to the bottom for at least twenty-five years.
Changes are coming that cannot be bought. Inspiration is the only currency that matters, and as far as RISHLOO is concerned, any industry "professional" that doesn't understand that is on a cruise to the abyss. Get out your water-wings and your life jacket, or read these quotes from some people whose opinions really mean something.
Every track is great. Even the interludes. No joke! I never thought RISHLOO could top Terras Fames but WOW. Eidolon blows it away. Exceeded FAR beyond my expectations. Brilliantly and cleverly written lyrics. So much emotion in this CD. I'm in love with it. I can listen to it all day. And I have everyday since the CD came in the mail. This CD sounds nothing like anything anyone has ever heard. Incredibly original. The artwork and design is fantastic. Very intriguing to look at. Great CD. I give this a 6 out of 5 rating. I would like to personally thank RISHLOO for creating such great art. I definitely recommend buying this record. These guys are true artists. No idea why they aren't signed.

This album hit me in the head like a brick. The opening noise sequence builds in to the albums first song(,) the aggressive "Freaks & Animals." This baby has one of my favourite heavy moments of this year. El Empe follows and then Rishloo calms down a bit on Pandora. Another highlight because of the dreamy soundscape. All in all this cd is one of the best and most ambitious works this year.
